The FDA has approved the Teal Wand, a groundbreaking device that allows individuals to screen for cervical cancer from the comfort of home. By permitting self-collection of samples that can be mailed to a lab for professional testing, this innovation addresses the intimidation many feel regarding traditional screenings. The Teal Wand aims to improve screening rates, currently lagging, especially among women. Backed by a significant funding round and a commitment to enhancing women's health, the device will be released in California in June 2023.
"Cervical cancer screenings are the most important and often the entry point to a woman's health relationship," Egan, co-founder and CEO, highlighted on the initiative.
