OnePlus is set to launch the Watch 3 in the US and Europe on February 18, featuring enhanced battery life of up to five days and the introduction of a new rotating digital crown. Unlike its predecessor, which lacked scrolling functionality, the new crown allows users to easily navigate Wear OS. The device can achieve a remarkable 16 days of battery life on power saver settings, utilizing a combination of Snapdragon and efficiency chipsets and a larger 631mAh battery. Pricing details have yet to be revealed, but the watch aims to outperform competitors in longevity.
The new digital crown fixes one of the major gripes about the Watch 2: that its rotating crown broke a cardinal design rule by not scrolling.
OnePlus says it boosted battery life this time around partly through the upgraded efficiency chip, and partly through adopting the same silicon carbon battery tech.
