Following Meta's success in the smart glasses market, Google is partnering with Warby Parker to develop its own AI-enabled eyewear, committing $150 million in total. The partnership, announced at the I/O conference, includes $75 million for product development and another $75 million contingent on meeting collaboration targets. Google plans to integrate AI features into the glasses, with initial options for both prescription and non-prescription lenses. The first version is expected to be released after 2025, and initial collaborators also include Gentle Monster and Kering Eyewear.
