Sure, it's nice when you're on a flight trying to watch a show or trying to lock in on some work while a coworker next to you is talking. But truthfully, most people will survive without noise cancelling.
If you really don't care too much about noise cancelling, I'd advise skipping the current AirPods Gen 3 and going for the original model AirPods.
They have a 24-hour battery life with the charging case. And for what it's worth, I prefer the in-ear control on these more than the AirPods Pro.
