Maryland tops Alabama in 2OT, heads to Sweet 16
Briefly

In a nail-biting game, Maryland's Sarah Te-Biasu led the Terrapins to a 111-108 victory over Alabama, scoring crucial points in the overtime periods. Despite facing a 17-point deficit and Alabama's Sarah Ashlee Barker's remarkable 45-point performance, Te-Biasu's late-game heroics, including a key tying 3-pointer, propelled Maryland into the Sweet 16. This matchup highlighted both teams' resilience while marking the 4th seed's advantage at home, maintaining the tradition of having at least one No. 4 seed in the Sweet 16 of the women's NCAA Tournament.
Te-Biasu made a tying 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter, then scored eight of her 26 points in the second overtime to help Maryland outlast Alabama 111-108.
With Maryland up three, Diana Collins missed a 3-pointer for Alabama. Te-Biasu broke up the inbound pass -- which was headed in Barker's direction -- to seal the game.
Sarah Ashlee Barker scored a career-high 45 points for Alabama. Only three players in tournament history have scored more points than Barker's 45.
This game was surely the game of the tournament so far and the only time in four second-round matchups that a No. 4 seed beat a No. 5 seed.
