HBO reveals first part of Harry Potter TV cast, including Dumbledore and Hagrid

HBO has officially announced the casting for its upcoming Harry Potter TV series, aiming to provide a more detailed and faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling's seven-book saga. John Lithgow will portray Albus Dumbledore, while Paapa Essiedu takes on Severus Snape, Janet McTeer will play Minerva McGonagall, and Nick Frost will be Rubeus Hagrid. Additional cast includes Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch. The series, crafted by Francesca Gardiner and directed by Mark Mylod, is set to run for over a decade, showcasing the enchanting wizarding world anew.
