Michael Gallup regained his passion for football during his time away. Washington provided an opportunity for him to return, but he must earn a place in a competitive receiver group. Although initially showing promise in workouts, a hamstring strain sidelined him during mandatory minicamp, complicating his path forward. He has a few weeks to recover and prepare for training camp. Additionally, running back Brian Robinson made strides in his performance last season, while Austin Ekeler looks to maintain his impact despite injury setbacks.
The time away allowed Gallup to refocus and find his love for football again. Washington gave him a route back into the league, but it comes with no guarantees whatsoever.
Things began well enough for Gallup over early workouts. He found his groove quickly... Unfortunately for the wideout, a hamstring strain kept him out of Washington's mandatory minicamp.
Gallup's got a few weeks to heal before camp. That's the first objective. After that, it's about hitting the ground running through consistent pass-catching and sharp route-running.
Although his numbers look similar from his previous two seasons, Robinson did take a step forward in 2024 by rushing for a career-high 799 yards.
