Nats become history's footnote to Ronald Acuna's entry into 40-40 club
Briefly

The Braves' Ronald Acuña Jr. was just one swing from joining a rare club - the first player in 17 years to post at least 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases - and the Nationals' pitching was hoping to avoid becoming answers at sports trivia nights in Atlanta for years to come.
The last player to accomplish the feat was Alfonso Soriano, who hit 46 home runs and stolen 41 bases for the Nationals in 2006. He stole his 40th base at RFK Stadium. The others: Alex Rodriguez (1998), Barry Bonds (1996) and Jose Canseco (1988).
