Julian Fernández was claimed off waivers by the Washington Nationals two days after being designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Nationals optioned him to Triple-A Rochester. He was DFA'd by the Dodgers to make room for Buddy Kennedy, who was claimed from the Toronto Blue Jays. Fernández joins his sixth organization, previously signing with the Rockies, Giants, Marlins, and Blue Jays. He made his MLB debut with the Rockies and had a brief stint with the Dodgers, allowing two runs in one game before being sent back to Triple-A.
