Axar Patel has been appointed as the captain of Delhi Capitals for the upcoming IPL 2025 season, succeeding Rishabh Pant. As the team's longest-serving player since 2019, Patel has significantly contributed to the team, amassing 967 runs and 62 wickets. His leadership comes at a pivotal time, especially after his notable performance in the Champions Trophy. Patel expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and feels prepared to lead the team with confidence. Delhi Capitals will launch their IPL campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on March 24.
