""I am confident that their collective knowledge, experience, and TOP degrees will restore the GOLD STANDARD OF SCIENCE at the CDC.""
President Trump nominated Dr. Erica Schwartz as the next director of the CDC, a position that has been unfilled for most of his second term. Schwartz, a retired Rear Admiral and board-certified preventive medicine physician, previously served as deputy surgeon general. Trump also appointed Sean Slovenski, Dr. Jennifer Shuford, and Dr. Sara Brenner to key roles within the CDC. The nominee requires Senate approval, and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya currently leads the CDC in an acting capacity during the confirmation process.
