Whitney Decker, mourning her three daughters Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia who were allegedly murdered by their father, spoke publicly for the first time at their memorial on June 20. She remembered her daughters fondly, noting their caring and affectionate nature. After their parents' divorce, the girls had therapy to express their emotions, which strengthened their bond. At the memorial, Whitney expressed gratitude for the time spent with her daughters and hoped their legacy would live on in everyone's hearts.
"You all look beautiful," the grieving mother tearfully told mourners in a video published by NBC affiliate King 5 Seattle. "I know Evelyn would have loved to ooh and aah over all your outfits. She would have been amazed by all the color out there ... Paityn would have sought each and every one of you out to try to find something to give you a compliment for."
"I'm so thankful for that time I had with the girls," she said, sobbing. She added that the family's conversations about their feelings allowed them to "connect" to one another.
Whitney Decker concluded by thanking mourners for their "outpouring of love." "I truly hope that the legacy of the girls' lives lives on in everyone's heart forever. They were incredible," she added.
