DC attorney Keith Krom began the initiative to establish a Watergate museum after a passerby’s question about its location made him contemplate its historical absence. He organized an expert advisory board with notable figures such as Timothy Naftali and Beverly Gage to ensure factual accuracy and credibility. The museum aims to feature two permanent exhibits: one on the Watergate scandal and another on the building's architectural history. Although the project is still in its early stages, Krom envisions including significant artifacts, reflecting his admiration for the Watergate complex's unique architectural style and its impact on the nation’s history.
"After a while, I started to think, well, why isn't there a Watergate museum?" Krom said, highlighting his motivation to create a museum that acknowledges the Watergate complex's historical significance.
Krom has already assembled an impressive advisory board, including experts like Timothy Naftali and Beverly Gage, to ensure that the information presented in the museum is accurate.
While it will probably be years before the nonprofit project can open to the public, Krom has ambitious plans for permanent exhibits focusing on the Watergate scandal.
"To some people, the Watergate is not an attractive building, but I just love the unique architecture of it," Krom expressed, showcasing his passion for the site's complex history.
