Spencer Carbery provides brief update on Logan Thompson's injury
Briefly

During the Washington Capitals' recent game, goaltender Logan Thompson was pulled after the first period due to an upper-body injury, allowing Charlie Lindgren to finish the match, which resulted in a 5-1 defeat against the Carolina Hurricanes. Thompson had struggled in recent outings, with a goals-against average exceeding 3.00 and a low save percentage. Head coach Spencer Carbery mentioned that Thompson would be reevaluated when the team returned home, highlighting the ongoing concerns regarding the player’s condition amid his recent performance issues.
Thompson has struggled in net since the beginning of March. Despite posting a 6-3-1 record, he has a 3.20 goals-against average and a .876 save percentage.
Head coach Spencer Carbery was asked about his concern level regarding Thompson's status post-game and offered a brief update. "He'll be reevaluated when we get back home," Carbery said.
Thompson lasted just one period before exiting the crease with what the Capitals called an upper-body injury, after giving up three goals on 12 shots.
Despite taking a hard shot to the mask and colliding with a player, there was no apparent injury for Thompson, leading to his mid-game withdrawal.
