Craig Laughlin stable and recovering after successful open-heart surgery
Briefly

Craig Laughlin successfully underwent open-heart surgery to repair a bicuspid aortic valve and address a blocked artery. Post-surgery updates from his daughter, Courtney Laughlin, indicated Craig remains stable in the ICU, though still recovering from anesthesia. The Capitals community showed support with tributes, including the coaching staff wearing heart-shaped pins featuring Laughlin's number 18 during the Heart Health Awareness Night game. The positive outlook from his family and commentary on Laughlin's feisty condition illustrate the strong support surrounding him as he embarks on recovery.
#lockerstrong ❤️ update: my dad is stable after undergoing what the surgeon said was a successful surgery. He still has a long way to go on his road to recovery, and will be in the ICU for at least another day. Thank you to our #ALLCAPS family for every message and prayer 🙏
...I just saw a text from his daughter Courtney that said Craig is stable. He's still under in terms of anesthesia. I would imagine they won't bring him out too soon, it'll take some time there... it sounds like things went very well today and we'll hope that will continue overnight.
Word is that they woke Locker a little while ago and asked him where he was at and said, 'at the damn hospital.'
At Capital One Arena, there were numerous tributes to Laughlin whose surgery fell on the same day as Heart Health Awareness Night. The Capitals' coaching staff wore lapel pins shaped like a heart with Laughlin's number 18 inside.
