Matt Roy did not join his Washington Capitals teammates for practice due to a lower-body injury sustained during Saturday's loss, now officially listed as "day-to-day."
Roy, who signed a six-year, $34.5 million contract with the Capitals, played only 8:39 against the Devils before leaving the game with his injury.
There were no clear indications during the game explaining Roy's injury, although he did stumble awkwardly during his first shift of the second period.
Dylan McIlrath is the prime candidate to replace Roy if he's unable to play against the Vegas Golden Knights, as both are right-handed shots.
