Ovechkin expressed interest in older hockey trading card boxes from 2005-06 and 2008-09. Although he did not purchase anything, he admired a rare LeBron James card and mentioned his wife's Pokémon card collection. Ovechkin has a significant memorabilia collection but seems keen to start collecting trading cards. His rookie cards are valued highly, with some exceeding $1,000.
