Alex Ovechkin, who has spent his entire 21-season NHL career with the Washington Capitals, nearly appeared in the Vegas Golden Knights' annual team photo. The incident occurred as the Capitals were preparing for practice at T-Mobile Arena, where the Golden Knights were also present for their photo. Former Capitals player Nic Dowd, now with the Golden Knights, recalled hearing the photographer call for Ovechkin, momentarily forgetting he was in town. Dowd expressed hope that Ovechkin would be included in the photo.
