The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered has received a new update, known as the Chronological Experience, which enables players to experience the game’s narrative in chronological order rather than non-linearly. This update aims to deepen players' understanding of character interactions and their impact on one another. In addition to the chronological mode, the update includes bug fixes and performance improvements. Players will receive new rewards including trophies and skins for characters Joel and Tommy, enhancing their gameplay experience.
The update, dubbed The Last of Us Part II Remastered Chronological Experience, allows players to experience the game in chronological order. This new mode complements the existing non-linear narrative that shifts between Ellie and Abby's stories, adding crucial flashbacks for context.
Through the new Chronological mode, we believe players will gain even deeper insight into Part II's narrative. It's designed to highlight how characters' actions intertwine and impact one another throughout their journeys.
The update will add a chronological mode to the game in addition to the default game mode, and is part of a broader effort to keep engagement with fans of The Last of Us franchise.
As part of the update, Naughty Dog is also releasing new rewards, including a trophy for completing the game in chronological mode, and new skins for Joel and Tommy.
