Blizzard announced fresh "vanilla" servers launching on November 21 for WoW's 20th anniversary, with automatic progression to The Burning Crusade Classic. Despite confirmed TBC progress, it's uncertain if they'll reach Cataclysm.
In an interview, WoW Classic engineers revealed advancements in server technology allowing larger, consolidated realms for the new servers, alongside quality-of-life improvements, balancing measures, and bans on controversial GDKP runs.
Nora Valletta, WoW Classic lead software engineer, emphasized that the new servers will not include dedicated role-playing or RPPvP options, marking a notable shift from past server offerings.
Players starting on the fresh servers should expect significant quality-of-life updates, such as the Chronoboon Displacer for world buffs and a revised Honor PvP ranking system, easing the game's earlier punishing elements.
