Finji has accused TikTok of using generative AI to alter the publisher's game ads on the platform without permission. Followers of Finji's official TikTok account alerted the company to seemingly modified ads. One allegedly modified image sexualized the protagonist of Usual June with a bikini bottom, exaggerated hips and thighs, and over-the-knee boots, which does not reflect the in-game character. Finji reports that it keeps AI advertising tools turned off and that its CEO contacted TikTok after receiving fan screenshots. TikTok initially said it found no evidence of AI-generated assets, then later appeared to acknowledge the evidence.
