"The Game Awards are coming up soon, and now host and organizer Geoff Keighley is hyping the event with some kind of real-world teaser campaign for something people believe is connected to Diablo. On November 28, Keighley posted the tex "regal.inspiring.thickness" along with an image of some kind of huge carving featuring humanoid people in the middle of a desert. On November 29, Keighley followed up with a Google Maps image showing the location of the marketing monolith in the California desert."
"Windows Central reporter Jez Corden said the teaser is related to an upcoming Diablo 4 expansion announcement, "but also, more." It was previously confirmed that Diablo 4 will get a new expansion in 2026, so a reveal at The Game Awards would make sense. The imagery of the teaser monolith is hellish as well, which is fitting if it's a Diablo 4 teaser."
"Diablo 4 launched in June 2023 and received its first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, in October 2024. This added a new region and class, along with more loot and endgame content. The Game Awards take place on Thursday, December 11, and we're expecting lots of news and reveals. Of course, the show will also hand out the awards themselves, including Game of the Year."
Host Geoff Keighley posted cryptic coordinates and imagery of a massive carved monolith in the California desert using the text 'regal.inspiring.thickness' and a Google Maps location. Observers found and documented the monolith, sharing photos and video. Windows Central reporter Jez Corden indicated the teaser ties to an upcoming Diablo 4 expansion and additional surprises. Diablo 4 previously launched in June 2023 and received the Vessel of Hatred expansion in October 2024. A new expansion is confirmed for 2026, making a reveal at The Game Awards on December 11 plausible given the teaser's hellish aesthetic.
