The Switch 2's GameChat is my new meeting room
Briefly

Nintendo introduced a new GameChat feature in the Switch 2, allowing users to communicate effortlessly during gameplay. Instead of relying on smartphone apps, users can chat via a dedicated button on the console, making interactions simpler. During a recent test, Verge staff experienced clear audio through the console's mic, but faced issues with the screensharing feature due to low frame rates and dropouts. Overall, while the voice chat feature impressed, the screensharing aspect needs improvement to match modern standards.
Some Verge staff joined a GameChat to test out the new feature, as well as play a little Mario Kart during the work day.
Instead of using a smartphone app like the original Switch, Switch 2 users can open up a communications channel at any time with the 'C' button.
The noise reduction and compression processing on the Switch 2's mic was surprisingly impressive: my audio was clear and easy to understand without any background noise.
GameChat's screensharing feature, on the other hand, leaves much to be desired. The frame rate for each user's gameplay feed is very low and compressed.
