The Switch 2 had a very good launch month
Briefly

Nintendo's Switch 2 launched successfully, becoming the fastest selling video game hardware in US history with 1.6 million units sold in June. This launch surpassed the previous record held by the PS4. The Switch 2 was the top-selling console in the US that month, contributing to a record high for hardware spending at $978 million. A significant majority, 82 percent, of Switch 2 buyers purchased Mario Kart World, and the Pro Controller saw a 32 percent attach rate. Nintendo aims to maintain interest by pacing future game releases throughout the year.
According to market research firm Circana, Nintendo's new console "debuted as the fastest selling video game hardware device in US history," selling 1.6 million units in June.
Circana says that the Switch 2 was the best-selling console in the US in June overall, in terms of both units sold and dollars raked in.
According to Circana, a whopping 82 percent of those who bought a Switch 2 also got a copy of World, either via a console bundle or buying a physical copy of the game.
The challenge will be to keep that momentum going, something Nintendo is attempting to do by pacing out its game releases.
