The Nintendo Switch 2 features an app that enables players to auto-upload in-game screenshots and videos to their mobile devices, although this option isn't enabled by default. Users must ensure they have the Nintendo Switch App downloaded and adjust settings in the Data Management menu to activate automatic uploads. This feature allows users to manage multimedia files, check friends lists, and utilize new gaming companion features, such as voice chat in GameChat, enhancing the gaming experience without requiring an online membership.
To turn it on, go to System Settings, scroll down to Data Management, and then find the Manage Screenshots and Videos menu.
The automatic upload feature will store up to 100 files in the app for a maximum of 30 days.
The Nintendo Switch App can also be used to check and manage your friends list, and it also has some companion features for certain games.
The app has been updated with some great new functionality for the Switch 2, much of it no longer requiring a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
