Steam Has A New Best-Rated Game Of All Time
Briefly

Stardew Valley has outmatched Portal 2 to become the highest-rated game on Steam, according to Steam Top 250 rankings. The farming simulator achieved almost 900,000 total votes, while Portal 2 has 436,665. While Stardew Valley has a slightly lower percentage of positive votes compared to Portal 2, the total vote count allowed it to gain the top position. The majority of the top-rated games on Steam have existed for years, with the notable exception of the recently released game Schedule 1. Developer Eric Barone continues to work on Haunted Chocolatier as a follow-up to Stardew Valley.
In an unexpected turn, Stardew Valley has ascended to claim the title of the highest-rated game on Steam, surpassing long-time leader Portal 2.
The game has garnered almost 900,000 votes, a substantial lead over Portal 2's 436,665 votes, a key factor in its higher rating.
Stardew Valley's approval rating is marginally lower than Portal 2's, but the ratio of positive votes against total votes placed it at the top.
Despite the rise of Stardew Valley, many games in Steam's top 10 have been around for several years, reflecting a tendency for longstanding favorites.
