Steam Controller 2 And New VR Controller Both Reportedly In The Works At Valve
Briefly

According to Lynch, both the Steam Controller 2, codenamed "Ibex," and a controller for the unconfirmed Deckard VR headset—codenamed "Roy"—are under development at Valve. Both products are reportedly "being tooled for a mass production goal in [Valve's] factories right now," he claims, indicating that they are in advanced stages of productization and may soon be released to consumers.
Lynch explained that while the products are designed for mass production, it does not mean that they are currently being assembled. There is a possibility that it could take up to a year before the controllers enter the assembly phase, but his strong confidence in the data suggests that the Ibex and Roy controllers are genuine Valve projects.
In his datamining work, Lynch has uncovered information about the Roy controller's inputs, suggesting it will be highly customizable for users. This could mean a significant evolution in user interaction, especially for VR, compared to previous iterations of Valve's hardware. This attention to user customization indicates Valve's commitment to enhancing user experiences in VR and gaming.
