Sony Files New PlayStation Videogame Trademark For "Break In"

Sony registered a videogame trademark for “Break In” on both European and US sites. The listing suggests a videogame titled “Break In,” raising questions about whether it represents a new PlayStation project or a rename of an existing live-service effort. The name aligns with heist-themed gameplay associated with Haven’s Montreal-based live-service project Fairgames, which has been reported to include a mode called “Break In.” Reports indicate Fairgames has struggled since its debut, and a name change could be intended to refresh perception ahead of an upcoming State of Play. Online reactions to Fairgames have been largely unimpressed, so a rename may not improve reception unless major changes occur.
