"Interestingly, it's noted that the Casual action difficulty can be selected from the start, or the survival-horror game will offer it up as an option upon dying a certain amount of times. The skipping sections feature for New Game+ is optional as well, with Konami noting it won't "impact branching paths or endings." The Silent Hill f system changes all sound like they're making the game a bit easier across the board."
"Launching in September, Silent Hill f sold over 1 million copies in just 24 hours. That means the game hit the sales milestone faster than the Silent Hill 2 remake, developed by Bloober Team. Speaking of which, Bloober Team is now working on a remake of the original Silent Hill. There is also a new movie adaptation for the franchise coming in the next couple of months: Return to Silent Hill, based on Silent Hill 2, is planned to premiere in theaters on January 23."
Silent Hill f received a patch adding a Casual action difficulty playable from New Game or selectable after multiple Game Overs for players on Story or higher. The update adds an optional New Game+ skip feature that does not impact branching paths or endings, speeds Hinako's stamina recovery, reduces enemy counts in certain areas and trims some previously unskippable combat encounters. Hard action difficulty now reduces damage to Hinako slightly. The patch includes numerous bug fixes. Silent Hill f launched in September and sold over one million copies within 24 hours, surpassing the Silent Hill 2 remake's initial sales pace.
