'Silent Hill f' trailer shows the game's beautiful backdrop and unsettling mood
Briefly

Konami has unveiled a full trailer for Silent Hill f, a new entry in the franchise set in 1960s rural Japan, focusing on the juxtaposition of beauty and terror in horror. Motoi Okamoto, responsible for the series, described the game's theme as capturing unsettling beauty, emphasizing how these elements coexist in a psychological horror narrative. Players will follow high school student Shimizu Hinako, who navigates a fog-enshrouded, grotesquely mutated version of her hometown, Ebisugaoka, comprising stunning yet terrifying landscapes. The game does not yet have a release date but is set to launch on major platforms.
Konami's Motoi Okamoto noted, 'the theme of the game is finding beauty in terror, which is common in Japanese horror... beauty and terror can co-exist in a psychological horror story.'
The game is set in the fictional town of Ebisugaoka, based on Kanayama, Gero in Gifu, known for its mountains and forest.
Players will take on the role of Shimizu Hinako, a high school student facing monsters and puzzles to survive in a transformed version of her hometown.
Silent Hill f will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games, although no release date is yet given.
