Silent Hill 2 Remake Quietly Confirmed For Xbox Series X|S
"Xbox Series X|S owners were left out when Bloober Team released its remake of Konami's Silent Hill 2 in 2024. Previous reports indicated that the game was a timed exclusive for PlayStation 5, but the one-year anniversary passed without an announcement of an Xbox port. Now, Silent Hill 2 has popped up on one of Xbox's international storefronts, which seemingly confirms that it will be heading to other countries soon."
"Silent Hill 2 is currently available for half off on Xbox's Australian store. Konami has yet to formally announce it for Xbox Series X|S in the United States, but the game was recently certified for those consoles by the ESRB. It will remain an M for Mature title. The ESRB page for the game doesn't have any indication that a Switch 2 port will follow."
"One thing we do know is that Silent Hill 2 won't be the last remake in the series. Bloober Team is now working on a remake of the original Silent Hill. However, Konami hasn't shared any info about it beyond the initial announcement. Christoph Gans--the director of the first Silent Hill movie--will adapt the story of Silent Hill 2 for the next live-action film, Return to Silent Hill. That sequel will be released on January 23, 2026."
Silent Hill 2 has appeared on an Xbox international storefront, indicating an upcoming Xbox Series X|S release after an initial PlayStation 5 timed exclusive. The game is currently discounted 50% on Xbox Australia's store. The ESRB recently certified Silent Hill 2 for Xbox Series X|S and maintained its M (Mature) rating. The ESRB page offers no sign of a Switch 2 port. Physical release plans for Xbox remain unknown, with digital-only status possible. Bloober Team is developing a remake of the original Silent Hill. A live-action sequel film, Return to Silent Hill, will release January 23, 2026.
