Scott Pilgrim Creator Bryan Lee O'Malley's Three Favorite Games Of All Time
"All of them. All the parts? Yeah. It's hard to separate parts. We all just want it to be a good game. My official role is consultant, so anytime they show me anything, I'll give them my honest opinion and try to improve it as much as I can. I'm just dabbling in all of it. Mostly, obviously, I did most of the writing."
"Most of the text in the game had my hand on it in some way, and a lot of the character designs, but not all because there's so many. If you've seen the game, there are tons and tons of characters, enemies, NPCs, etc. I did what I could there. I did what was most needed there and let the artists do their own thing as much as they could."
Bryan Lee O'Malley created Scott Pilgrim and published the six-part comic series between 2004 and 2010. He collaborated closely with Edgar Wright for the film and recent anime adaptation. He is heavily involved with Tribute Games' beat 'em up Scott Pilgrim EX, acting as consultant while contributing most of the game's writing and many character designs. He traveled to Montreal to play and preview the game. Video games remain central to the Scott Pilgrim universe and influence all adaptations. He discussed favorite games, recent favorites, hesitancy to buy a PlayStation 5, and criticized one game's art style as toxic and visually overwhelming.
