Director Koshi Nakanishi implemented first-person to increase immersion and fear, but observed that the intensity made RE7 possibly too scary for some players. To broaden accessibility, Resident Evil Requiem will launch with both first- and third-person camera modes. The third-person option is intended as a buffer from extreme horror by presenting the player character as an avatar, making the experience easier to manage.
