Resident Evil Director Teases A "Different" House Of The Dead Movie, Could Start Shooting This Year
Briefly

Paul W.S. Anderson, known for the Resident Evil series, is set to direct a new adaptation of Sega's House of the Dead. The film, based on The House of the Dead 3, is expected to commence production by late 2023. Anderson aims to immerse viewers by simulating the experience of the arcade game; the film will unfold in real-time, only pausing when players ‘die’ or finish the game. The characters include Lisa Rogan, on a mission to save her father, and Daniel Curien, whose father caused the zombie outbreak. A remake of The House of the Dead 2 is also set for release on various platforms soon.
The script is almost done. We're aiming to shoot in the fourth quarter of this year. I'm really going to push the envelope on this one.
It'll all play out in real time, so it reflects the experience of playing the video game. The only time it stops is when you beat the game or you die.
