Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves as the tenth generation mainline entries in the franchise. These games will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and will not be available on the original Switch hardware. The announcement was made on February 27 to clarify the platform exclusivity. The games feature tropical-themed settings with windswept islands and vast oceans. Players will travel across these environments and team up with Pokémon to overcome challenges and natural forces. The Switch 2 launches in 2027.
