Pokemon Hacker Arrested For Selling Modified Violet Monsters
Briefly

The suspect, 36-year-old Yoshihiro Yamakawa, used a special tool to modify save data, making rare monsters easier to manage, selling them for 13,000 yen ($84 USD) per sale.
Yamakawa confessed, stating he did it to 'earn a living.' The tool used can be downloaded for free but violates Japan's Unfair Competition Prevention Act.
Yamakawa faces up to five years in prison or hefty fines for selling protected data illegally. Kotaku has contacted Nintendo for a statement on the incident.
