Playdate Season 2 review: Tiny Turnip and Chance's Lucky Escape
Briefly

As Playdate Season Two approaches its end, it features engaging games like Tiny Turnip, a metroidvania about a climbing root vegetable, and Chance's Lucky Escape, an absurd point-and-click adventure. Tiny Turnip stands out with its unique mechanics centered around climbing and exploration, requiring precise movements through a large map. Players must collect various items, including crystal vegetables and stars, while enjoying an impressive soundtrack. The game utilizes the crank feature effectively, making the journey immersive and enjoyable. Season Two's games, overall, maintain a high quality that has pleased many players.
In line with the rest of this season's games, which have consistently been really solid, they're both pretty damn fun.
Tiny Turnip is one of the standouts of this season for me. It sits at the sweet spot of weird, a bit challenging and extremely engaging.
The turnip makes a wish, sprouts arms and sets out climbing toward the sky. The subsequent adventure takes place across an unexpectedly huge map.
I love the way this game uses the crank and it really is just a blast to play.
