Panic will showcase the second season of Playdate games on April 17

Panic has scheduled an upcoming Playdate Update event for April 17 at 1PM ET, where it will unveil details about the second season of Playdate games. The company will share information about participating developers, pre-order options, and the cost. The Playdate is notable for its innovative season structure, delivering two new games automatically every week for 12 weeks. To support developers, Panic launched a game store named Catalog. They have sold over 70,000 units since launch and raised more than $1 million for developers. Playdate's price also increased to $229 from $179.
The Playdate's season structure was one of the main things that made the tiny handheld unique when it was first released.
In a statement to press, Panic shared that through the Playdate and Catalog, they've been able to raise $1,043,186.85 for developers.
