Palworld had to remove game features because of Nintendo lawsuit
Briefly

The ongoing lawsuit between Nintendo and Pocketpair has led to significant changes in Pocketpair's game, Palworld. The November patch removed key features like summoning creatures with 'Pal Spheres', and upcoming updates will introduce more alterations, including changes to gliding mechanics. Pocketpair expressed disappointment about these adjustments but emphasized their need to maintain development and distribution amid legal pressure. Initially unaware of the patent specifics, Pocketpair later learned about the infringements regarding gameplay mechanics, which prompted their response to modify features criticized by Nintendo.
"We have had to make certain compromises in order to avoid disruptions to the development and distribution of Palworld," the studio says.
"Everyone here at Pocketpair was disappointed that this adjustment had to be made, and we fully understand that many players feel the same frustration. Unfortunately, as the alternative would have led to an even greater deterioration of the gameplay experience for players, it was determined that this change was necessary."
