Recent reports indicate that Fortnite OG, the original map mode of Fortnite, can be filled with a staggering percentage of bots, with player counts dropping to as low as eight real players. Renowned leaker AllyJax revealed this information via a Discord bot, stating that this configuration can lead to matches with 92 bots. While using bots can enhance matchmaking and decrease wait times, this could significantly alter the gameplay experience, affecting player expectations and enjoyment. Epic Games has not yet commented on the claims.
"The minimum real player count has been reduced from 25 to as low as 8 in Fortnite OG," AllyJax wrote. "There is a probable chance you can have matches with 92 bots."
In a vacuum, companies like Epic using bots isn't necessarily a bad thing. For starters, they can be used to shorten wait times for matches.
AllyJax suggests Fortnite's player counts can change from month to month, hinting at ongoing adjustments by Epic based on active player numbers.
Being surrounded by as many as 92 bots and only seven other humans is... probably not what you signed up for.
