""There was a drive to create something that felt authentic to us and it kind of felt natural to bring it home.""
""biggest and most ambitious game yet""
""let the ferries in" and "this town is ours""
Silent Hill: Townfall is set in fictional St Amelia, modeled on the East Neuk village of St Monans. Glasgow developer Screen Burn, with about 30 employees, created the title and described it as their biggest and most ambitious game yet. The Silent Hill franchise has sold millions since 1999, and the spin-off Silent Hill f sold one million copies on its September 2025 release. Townfall's trailer depicts a fishing harbour shrouded in haar, lobster boxes, boats, colourful bunting, and placards reading "let the ferries in" and "this town is ours", while the streets appear deserted. Developers studied the village's features to bring sensory authenticity to the game.
