The film, officially called Karate Kid Legends, will be directed by Johnathan Entwistle, best known for his work on TV with I'm Not Okay With This.
Karate Kid Legends will reframe the franchise on the east coast of the US and follow a teenager from China who trains with a tough but wise mentor.
