Bungie's recent developer livestream revealed the introduction of a limited-time PvP mode called Heavy Metal for Destiny 2, set to launch in Heresy Act 3 on April 1. This 6v6 vehicle combat mode allows players to control Brigs, a feature previously unavailable, in addition to enhanced Drake Tanks, which now boast new abilities. While the mode has no fixed release date, Bungie is open to incorporating Heavy Metal into the Crucible rotation based on player reception. The 6v6 vehicle combat activity is only going to be in the game for a limited time, but if the reception is positive, it could be added to the Crucible rotation.
