"Halo Studios themselves have previously confirmed that they intended on showing off what they've been working on at the upcoming Halo World Championship, which takes place between October 24-26. However, they stopped short at confirming it would be a full Halo game, even if the hint was obvious. Well, Schreier says it is indeed a new Halo title. "Xbox's best hope for a blockbuster game in recent years was 2021's Halo Infinite, the latest entry in its most vital franchise," writes Schreier, possibly while chugging coffee and staring at a whiteboard covered in string and pictures."
"It's widely believed that another remake of Halo: Combat Evolved is in the works, potentially running on the Halo: Reach engine with Unreal Engine 5 handling the graphics. It's also said to feature sprinting - a very controversial choice - and various other changes. It's also believed that Virtous Abstraction is handling the development. And then there have been hints at another Halo title also in the works, along with reports that at least one of the new Halo games is going to launch on PS5. Personally, my money is on the Halo: Combat Evolved remake."
Microsoft and Halo Studios will announce a new Halo game at the Halo World Championship (October 24–26). The release aims to resuscitate the franchise after Halo Infinite's early accolades were followed by perceptions of failure and a studio overhaul. Rumors point to a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved potentially running on the Halo: Reach engine with Unreal Engine 5 for graphics, including sprinting and other gameplay changes. Virtous Abstraction is reported to be handling development. Additional Halo projects are suggested, and at least one new Halo title may launch on PS5. Xbox leadership has hinted at the return of a long-running classic around 2026.
