NetEase, the developer of Marvel Rivals, introduced a mid-season update featuring two new characters and a new map while announcing a ban on the third-party plugin Blitz. This plugin, which gives users an unfair advantage by providing them with additional game information, has led to concerns regarding fairness in gameplay. NetEase has labeled Blitz as cheating software and warned players against its use moving forward. Players who previously used the plugin will not face penalties, provided they discontinue its use. The creators of Blitz have paused their overlays to re-evaluate their software.
Recently, we've seen the use of a third-party plugin known as Blitz. This program injects itself into our game process, giving users confidential information like damage and healing statistics. It allows players to selectively ban heroes, predict opponents' ultimate abilities, and more, severely undermining the fairness of our game.
We deem this program as cheating software and will no longer allow its use during gameplay.
We strongly urge players to avoid using any PC third-party add-ons, overlays, or plugins when playing Marvel Rivals in order to uphold justice in our gaming universe.
The company behind Blitz has temporarily paused all of its Marvel Rivals overlays and says it's working on ways to come back stronger.
