'Lost Records' Comes To An Explosive Yet Uneven End In 'Bloom & Rage - Tape 2'
Briefly

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 2 dives into the emotional chaos of adolescence, focusing on themes of illness, friendship, and personal struggle. Following the shocking ending of Tape 1, the narrative becomes darker as characters deal with the impact of Kat's terminal cancer diagnosis. The game contrasts the cheerful beginnings of Tape 1 with the somber reality of Swann's deteriorating friendship and the group's fragmentation. Players experience a slower-paced journey filled with raw emotions and significant life challenges, illustrating the beautifully chaotic nature of growing up.
Swann's friend group is understandably splintered after Kat's illness is revealed and she's taken to the hospital, then barred from visiting the other girls.
The second half of Lost Records: Bloom and Rage lives entirely in that chaotic space, ending the game's story in an experience just as tumultuous, frustrating, beautiful, and terrifying as adolescence itself.
Tape 2 begins with a dark inversion of the intro to Tape 1. Swann is in her room packing up for a move at the start of both games, but rather than the mostly cheerful girl we met the first time, Swann is dour.
Raw, moving scenes of Swann trying to talk one friend through a panic attack and sneak into Kat's room with another immediately cement the second half of Lost Records as much darker than the first.
