Krafton is developing InZoi, a life simulator that presents a realistic alternative to EA's The Sims, which has dominated the genre for 25 years. Director Hyungjun Kim emphasizes that InZoi is not a competitor but an additional choice for fans, honoring The Sims' achievements. InZoi features realistic characters, deep customization, and AI-driven creative tools that allow avatars to develop unique personalities. Initially set for late 2024, InZoi's early access has been pushed to March 28, with console versions scheduled for later release. Players can engage in diverse gameplay options, including being able to become ghosts.
"We see InZoi not as a competitor to The Sims, but rather as another option that fans of this genre can enjoy," said Kim during an interview with PC Gamer.
Kim went on to note some of the features of InZoi, which set it apart from The Sims. In addition to the realistic style for the characters and the world around them, he said that InZoi has 'in-depth customization features, and AI-driven creative tools.'
Krafton has previously stated that the AI features can allow the avatars to develop personalities and even let players use a picture of furniture to translate an object into a 3D model that can be used in the game.
InZoi was originally supposed to enter early access in late 2024 before it was pushed back to PC on March 28, with a console release to follow at a later date.
