Hypixel Studios restarted development after reacquiring Hytale's intellectual property from Riot Games. Hytale is an action-focused sandbox title inspired by Minecraft and will relaunch in early access with a $20 Standard edition, plus $35 Supporter and $70 Cursebreaker editions that include additional cosmetics. Hypixel priced the game at $20 to reflect its unfinished state and reliance on a build that is over four years old. Footage of Hytale was shared immediately after the rights transfer. Riot cancelled Hytale in June 2025 after five years of development and a major engine reboot. Riot previously acquired Hypixel during a period that included the Riot Forge publishing label, later sunset in 2024.
