How to rewind in Mario Kart World
Briefly

The rewind feature in Mario Kart World serves as an invaluable tool for players aiming to master challenging tricks, jumps, and grinds. Accessible through the Nintendo Switch 2, it allows users to rewind the last five seconds of gameplay to correct mistakes or practice timing on difficult jumps. Notably, it can evade obstacles in Battle Mode and even blue shells when used effectively. While it does not influence timers in challenges or races, it is essential for single-player and Free Roam modes, offering a chance to learn without penalty from mistakes.
Rewind is useful if you're trying to learn how to time a jump correctly so you can drive along the wall, if you miss a shortcut.
GiantBomb's Jeff Grubb discovered you can even use rewind to escape a blue shell. If you rewind right before the shell makes contact, it'll explode.
Bear in mind that rewind doesn't affect the timer if you're completing a Free Roam challenge. You'll start in your previous position, but the timer won't rewind.
For learning tough courses such as Rainbow Road, it's worth rewinding and coming in last to get the hang of difficult curves without having to restart.
