Halo: Campaign Evolved, a Remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, Is Coming Next Year

"Halo: Campaign Evolved is a full remake of the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, built in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5. The game will feature remastered 4K visuals, updated animations, familiar Halo weapons and vehicles, remastered music, re-recorded voice lines, and new story content. The remake will be a "modern evolution" of the story of Halo Combat: Evolved, featuring three new bonus campaign missions, Microsoft said in an Xbox Wire post on Friday."

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a complete remake of Halo: Combat Evolved rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 and slated to launch on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation in 2026. The campaign receives remastered 4K visuals, updated animations, remastered music, re-recorded voice lines, and new story content including three bonus missions. The project preserves familiar Halo weapons and vehicles while adding nine additional franchise weapons. Local two-player split-screen is retained on consoles, and a new four-player online co-op mode is introduced across Xbox Series S/X, PC, and PS5. The remake focuses on recreating the original campaign's atmosphere, tone, and emotional impact.
